Influence of media on the fashion industry is a major point of criticism. Many persons feel that it is a conspiracy that permits certain trends to continue even though it is not necessarily beneficial for the masses. The emphasis on extremely skinny models is one issue that seems to have survived simply because media is supporting the fashion industry.

Well, every alliance has its share of advantages and disadvantages. These disadvantages may exist in the media fashion alliances well. However, it is important to understand the positive impact of this coördination. Combination of media and fashion industry has thrown up hundreds and thousands of career options that otherwise would not have existed.

From the media consultant for a fashion industry to the expert who provides tips and advice in newspapers or magazines about the latest fashion trends-these jobs exist simply because the media and fashion industry works together. Despite protestations, it is amply clear that the masses have absolutely no problem with the joint venture between the fashion and the media industry. The average person is aware of the power of media and is prepared to accept its dominance as far as fashion trends are concerned.

At the end of the day, does it really matter whether Jennifer Aniston’s hairstyle gains prominence over Angelina Jolie’s? Compare to the impact of media dominance in areas of governance or judiciary, the fashion industry seems to be a somewhat frivolous and harmless issue. What is more, combination of media and fashion always makes great news and entertainment.
